Named after the River Humber where she was stationed for almost 30 years to protect mariners in the North Sea.
Lounge - Kitchen - Diner.
Stepping aboard through SULA's original teak doors, guests are welcomed into a stylishly furnished lounge. Whether you dream of a lazy afternoon with a cup of tea and a good book or a movie night premier with a glass of something special, the lounge is the ideal space to unwind!
The kitchen is compact featuring everything you might need for a short stay, complimentary coffee machine, and an extendable dining table that happily seats two to four diners. Turn the old wheel on the door to the side and you can enjoy the view of passing boats and Gloucester docklands as you dine. Watch your step as you descend the staircase to the lower deck and there you'll find two luxurious cabins and a spacious bathroom. Complimentary WIFI is available in all rooms within the suite, unless you're looking for a digital detox!
The 59 Room.
So called after the year LV14 SULA went into service, 1959.
The 59 Room is our larger cabin with a king size bed for that extra touch of luxury. Alongside sits bespoke wardrobes with a concealed safe for your party's valuables. A refreshment station complete with a welcome pack, phone charging dock, ironing board and iron offers extra in-room comfort. The quirky feature in this cabin is the original wooden ladder that leads up to a restored escape hatch on the top deck.
The 85 Room.
Named so in honour of the year LV14 SULA was retired, Christmas Eve 1985.
The 85 Room is a wonderfully cosy cabin with a luxurious double bed and warm ambience. The port holes to the starboard side provide a refreshing breeze and views of the dock's historic warehouses. Bespoke wardrobes sit perfectly to one side, phone charging dock and the refreshment station with a welcome pack means a cuppa in bed is but a few steps away!
The shower room sits to the port side featuring a double walk-in shower and reclaimed oak sideboard, converted into a tiled vanity unit. Peek through the portholes and you'll see the dock's historic monument wall, now under preservation. Complimentary towels and toiletries are provided for all guests.
Bow & Sun Decks.
The bow deck is wonderfully authentic and a great place to watch boats go by. It also provides space to store paddle boards and canoes, if you're feeling sporty! Access to the Sun Deck is via a companionway (steep) staircase. From here guests can enjoy a panoramic view taking in the picturesque Llanthony Priory, Cathedral spires and much more. With recliners and a coffee table, it's a beautiful place to watch the world go by, see the sun go down and gaze up at the stars.

Is SULA suitable for children?
Similarly, for the same reasons, access is not suitable for children under the age of 16. We can accommodate babies in arms with a travel cot and bedding, at your own discretion.
We are moored just a short stroll away from Gloucester Quays outlet centre with shops, restaurants, bars and a cinema. In fact, within 400m of the gang way, we have over 40 eateries to suit all tastes. There is also a large supermarket and tourist attractions such as the Cathedral, museums and climbing centre, all within a short walk.
